On this Tuesday, August 5th, Coppe/UFRJ’s board of directors presented the main results of two years in office, marked by structural advances that strengthen Coppe’s role as a national and international reference in science, technology, and innovation. Among the highlights is the continued growth in graduate enrollment for the second consecutive year, both in master’s and doctoral programs.
Coppe secured 177 new projects, the result of structured collaboration with the manufacturing sector. This progress demonstrates not only the institution’s ability to understand industry challenges but also its excellence in delivering innovative and effective solutions. This achievement was the result of more than 80 meetings and strategic visits with national and international partners, expanding its institutional reach and strengthening ties with companies, funding agencies, and research centers in Brazil and abroad.
Coppe’s internationalization has intensified, with new partnerships with institutions in China, India and Norway. Currently, Coppe maintains 51 memoranda of understanding (MoUs) in effect with 11 countries, covering research and academic mobility projects.
Cross-disciplinary collaboration between areas of knowledge was also deepened through the creation and strengthening of interdisciplinary hubs and centers, such as the Center for Low Carbon Solutions, the Artificial Intelligence Hub, the Offshore Engineering Hub, and the Center for Studies and Practices in Disaster Engineering (Ceped).
In the area of well-being and community care, initiatives included the revitalization of Coppe’s physical spaces, with the development of 25 architectural projects aimed at improving infrastructure and improving work, study and living environments. The Acolhe Coppe program consolidated its importance by serving more than 150 people, including students, staff and faculty, reinforcing an institutional welcoming policy that will be expanded in the coming months.
Another important advancement was the investment in data and transparency, with the development of an interactive platform that allows the monitoring of institutional indicators by program and year—including publications, defenses, projects, and other strategic information.
Finally, Coppe also made progress in institutional communication, with an increased presence on social media, greater visibility in national media and the consolidation of new brand usage guidelines, reinforcing the institution’s identity in different contexts.
