Coppe at COP 30 – Science, Innovation and Cooperation for a Sustainable Future
Planeta COPPE
Date: 05/11/2025

This November, Brazil is hosting COP 30 — the 30th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC). By holding the largest global climate event in Belém (PA), in the heart of the Amazon, the country is placing crucial issues such as biodiversity, deforestation, global warming and the search for solutions based on innovation and technology at the center of world attention.
In its various graduate programs, Coppe develops applied research and technological innovation focused on addressing climate change, working from the decarbonization of the oil and gas industry to the development of sustainable solutions for civil construction and cities. This diversity of approaches reflects the institution’s systemic and interdisciplinary vision, which connects science, public policies and the productive sector to promote a future of low emissions and high impact on the country’s development.
Coppe will be present at panels, roundtables, and parallel events organized in partnership with Brazilian and international institutions. The debates will address topics such as Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs), the Brazilian energy transition, the decarbonization of the transportation sector, innovation in biofuels and sustainable aviation fuels (SAF), the circular economy, climate risk and disaster management and climate finance mechanisms.
