Suzana Kahn, director of Coppe/UFRJ, will participate in a discussion at the Cinemateca of the Museum of Modern Art (MAM) with environmentalist and economist Sergio Besserman on September 30, as part of the 15th Fimambiente. The international festival features films about the environment and issues related to the preservation of the planet, and the film in this section will be “Plan C for Humanity.”
While scientists and world leaders struggle to find solutions to the climate emergency–now a very tangible reality–the controversial climate-cooling technology known as solar geoengineering is entering the global stage. It is an idea so powerful and filled with uncertainties that even the research proposal itself is viewed as a serious risk by leading environmental activists and scientists.
With free entry and open to the public, the discussion will take place immediately after the film screening, which begins at 6:30 p.m. To reserve your ticket, click here.
The address for the Cinemateca of the MAM is Avenida Infante Dom Henrique, 85, Parque do Flamengo.
