Coppe supports and participates in Energy Summit: the largest MIT event in the world

Coppe/UFRJ is one of the supporters of the Energy Summit, the largest event of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in the world, dedicated to discussing the pathways of energy transformation, technological innovation and the transition to a low-carbon economy.
The event brings together researchers, executives, investors and public policymakers to discuss real, applicable and scalable solutions to global energy challenges — connecting science, technology, business and capital.
Among the confirmed speakers:
- Ben Soltoff – Resident Entrepreneur (EIR) at the Martin Trust Center for Entrepreneurship
- Mariangela Hungria – Researcher at Embrapa Soja and winner of the “Nobel Prize of Agriculture”
- Page Crahan – General Manager of Tapestry, a division of X (Moonshot Factory), Alphabet’s (Google) innovation laboratory
- Jordan Butler – CEO of Cleanlight Inc.
- Lars Frølund – Deep tech investment specialist and Lecturer at MIT
- Myfanwy Price Wolf – Director of Climate Investment at OGCI
- Florian Berg – Main Researcher at MIT Sloan School of Management
In addition to them, the participation of two Coppe professors as speakers has also been confirmed: Alexandre Szklo and Milad Shadman, from the Energy Planning Program (PPE) and the Ocean Engineering Program (Peno), and the retired PPE professor and current member of the Board of Axia Energia (formerly Eletrobras), Maurício Tolmasquim.
Energy Summit takes place from June 23rd to 25th and, in this edition, gains a new home: Marina da Glória, one of the main postcards of Rio de Janeiro..
