Coppe/UFRJ will participate in the 2026 Energy Summit with the presence of professors and researchers in debates considered strategic for the future of energy in Brazil. The institution supports the event, which is the largest in the world held by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and brings together experts to discuss energy transformation, technological innovation and the transition to a low-carbon economy.
This year’s edition will bring together researchers, executives, investors and policymakers around real, applicable and scalable solutions to global energy challenges, connecting science, technology, business and capital.
The program will feature a strong presence from Coppe, represented by nationally and internationally recognized experts in the areas of energy planning, energy transition and innovation. Among the confirmed speakers are Coppe’s director, Professor Suzana Kahn, Professors Alexandre Szklo and Milad Shadman, from the Energy Planning (PPE) and Ocean Engineering (Peno) Programs, as well as retired PPE professor Maurício Tolmasquim, current member of the Board of Axia Energia (formerly Eletrobras).
