Coppe/UFRJ and Petrobras welcomed, last week (from December 8th to 12th), delegations from the China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC) and the China University of Petroleum (CUP-Beijing) for the first edition, in our country, of the Brazil-China Forum on Science, Technology and Innovation. The three-day event included meetings between directors and researchers from Coppe, Petrobras, and the two Chinese institutions that signed a quadripartite cooperation agreement in 2024 aimed at creating the Brazil-China Center for Science, Technology and Innovation.
Throughout the Forum’s program, 43 technical presentations were given – eight of which were presented by Coppe – on topics of common interest by representatives of the four signatory institutions.

The Forum also included a panel on Artificial Intelligence (AI) applied to energy, in which Professor Alexandre Evsukoff gave a presentation, and visits were made to five Coppe laboratories: the Ocean Structures Center (NEO), the Ocean Technology Laboratory (LabOceano), the Laboratory of Computational Methods in Engineering (Lamce), the Catalysis Center (Nucat), and the Center for Research and Characterization of Petroleum and Fuels (Coppecomb).
