Since 1968, our program has been one of the main contributors to training human resources for the Brazilian nuclear sector. In addition to the master’s and doctoral courses at Coppe, we also participate in undergraduate education with the Department of Nuclear Engineering at the Polytechnic School of UFRJ. We offer the subject of Modern Physics for the Mechanical, Civil, and Naval Engineering courses; and oversee the graduation in Nuclear Engineering with the Polytechnic School of UFRJ.

Our program interacts closely with industries and companies, whether public or private, in several areas: electrical power generation, nuclear energy and its uses, radioisotopes in the health sector, and many areas in between.
