LGBTQIAPNb+ population health is the theme of an event at Coppe

UFRJ’s General Superintendence of Affirmative Actions (Sgaada) shall host, on August 28th, the event “Care is Pride – Health with respect and freedom”, aimed at promoting comprehensive care, with an emphasis on the health of trans men and the appreciation of self-care practices. The event will take place from 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in auditorium G-122 at Coppe, in UFRJ’s Technology Center.
Open to the public and free of charge, the meeting will feature the panel discussion “LGBTQIAPNb+ population, prevention and belonging: health beyond invisibility,” which will bring together representatives from UFRJ, activists and memebers from civil society organizations.
Topics to be discussed include combined prevention, PrEP, PEP, testing, pregnancy among trans men, sexual and reproductive rights, mental health and suicide prevention for LGBTQIAPNb+ people.
Confirmed for the panel discussion are: Gab Van (João Nery Transmadculina League), Nilson Junior (DiversiLiga), Guilherme Jacques (Rio Without LGBTphobia), Fernanda Lima (Nudiversis/ Public Defender’s Office of Rio de Janeiro), Helena Gonçalves (Nursing League), Weni (UFRJ Trans Collective), and Leandro Duarte (São Francisco de Assis Teaching Hospital/UFRJ). The mediation will be conducted by Cecília Izidoro (Sgaada).
As part of the care initiative, the event will also provide prevention supplies and support materials on health and psychological support.
