The comprehensive and multidisciplinary nature of Coppe/UFRJ’s programs allows its faculty to work on strategic topics that go far beyond the traditional boundaries of each field. This integrated vision will be represented at EuroELECS 2025 – the Latin American and European Meeting on Sustainable Buildings and Communities, which will take place from October 1st to 3rd at the School of Architecture and Urbanism (FAU/UFRJ).
The event will bring together international experts to discuss innovative solutions that balance urban development, environmental preservation and social inclusion, strengthening the dialogue between Brazil, Latin America and Europe.
The presence of professors Andrea Santos, from the Transport Engineering Program, and Marcelo Miguez, from the Civil Engineering Program and the Polytechnic School’s faculty, exemplifies this transversality:
- Andrea Santos will participate in the roundtable “Urban Futures: Sustainability, Climate and the 2030 Agenda”, on the 1st day, from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
- Marcelo Miguez will be at the roundtable “Urban Waters and Sustainable Communities”, on October 2nd, from 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m.
EuroELECS also promotes the dissemination of knowledge about innovative products and processes applicable to both high-tech buildings and affordable housing, valuing solutions that promote well-being, urban health, social inclusion and environmental preservation.
