Coppe is actively participating in Rio Innovation Week 2024, one of the largest global events on technology and innovation, which takes place at Pier Mauá, to present their innovative technologies to different sectors. It is an opportunity to show the general public of Rio de Janeiro as well as the industry, government and partner sectors a part of the technological solutions proposed by the institution.
The activities, which resume today and proceed until tomorrow, the last day of the event, involve conference participations, and demonstrations and presentations (pitches) at the Inova UFRJ stand. In this space, Coppe and resident startups at its business incubator have been demonstrating some technologies and doing presentations (pitches).
The Delta Entech startup presented innovative techniques to filter river water; Coppe’s Renewable Energies in the Ocean Group [Grupo de Energias Renováveis no Oceano] (Gero) displayed proposals to fabricate hidrogen from the generation of offshore eolic energy; and the institution’s Simulation and Control in Automation and Robotics Group [Grupo de Simulação e Controle em Automação e Robótica] (Gscar) did a presentation on drones, instrumented systems and robots developed to do inspections. Also on Tuesday, the first day of the event, Coppe’s Business Incubator and its importance for an Innovation Ecosystem were presented.
Yesterday, the 14th, Coppe’s Instrumentation and Photonic Laboratory [Laboratório de Instrumentação e Fotônica] (LIF) demonstrated how their innovative nano-bio-technological optical fiber sensor device works in detecting water contamination in just 20 minutes; and Orion startup showed their equipment created to conduct duct inspections. Furthermore, the present audience was also able to accompany a demonstration by the Nautilus team, from UFRJ’s Polytechnic School [Escola Politécnica], on their autonomous vehicles developed with Coppe’s participation, among countless other activities.
