The Coppetec Foundation was recently accredited by the Celso Suckow da Fonseca Federal Center for Technological Education (Cefet/RJ) as the institution’s contract management entity. The partnership represents a strategic step toward expanding fundraising, strengthening support for research, innovation and science outreach projects and facilitating the administrative and financial management of academic, technological, and scientific initiatives developed within Cefet/RJ.
According to Professor Claudia Barucke, head of the Research and Innovation Department (DEPEQ) at Cefet/RJ, the collaboration with Coppetec opens up new possibilities for the development of strategic projects that will benefit the entire academic community. Along the same lines, the institution’s Director of Research and Graduate Studies, Professor Ronney Boloy, emphasizes that the goal is to foster excellent scientific production, innovation and the development of solutions aligned with societal demands and Cefet/RJ’s institutional mission.

“We are diversifying our operations and making all the expertise we have accumulated over the years available to Cefet/RJ. We expect the institution to soon have a structured project office with our support, expanding its funding opportunities, including funding from parliamentary amendments,” says Professor Glaydston Ribeiro, executive director of the Coppetec Foundation.
According to Glaydston, the partnership also symbolizes the strengthening of the Foundation’s operations, which is currently undergoing renewal and expansion. In addition to Cefet/RJ, Coppetec recently began serving the Center for Mineral Technology (Cetem), affiliated with the Ministry of Science, Technology, and Innovation; the Brazilian Hospital Services Company (Ebserh), which, affiliated with the Ministry of Education, is responsible for managing university hospitals; and the Federal University of the State of Rio de Janeiro (Unirio).
The Coppetec Foundation has been undergoing restructuring since 2023, when the current Coppe/UFRJ board took office. Recognized for the quality of its governance, the Foundation has sought to modernize and streamline its internal processes to offer even more efficient and transparent services to partner institutions. Advances already implemented include digital tools for real-time monitoring of proposal progress; electronic signature systems with verified authenticity; and automated document generation solutions, providing greater accuracy, traceability, and agility to operations.

This transformation also includes improvements in employee working conditions, with the adoption of new health and dental plans, the strengthening of conduct and ethics principles, and the modernization of internal management—measures that directly contribute to the fluidity of procedures and a more integrated and efficient institutional environment.
As part of this new growth cycle, the Foundation has begun renovating its physical facilities, based on a new architectural design that aims to create a more modern and functional work environment. During the construction period, the Foundation’s Purchasing, Bidding, Human Resources, Agreements, and Finance departments are temporarily operating in Block 3 of Technology Center 2 (CT2), which already houses laboratories for the Biomedical Engineering and Nanotechnology Engineering Programs, as well as the communications department for Coppe, the Embrapii-Coppe Unit, and the Distance Learning (EAD) course.
Coppetec’s new phase reflects its commitment to excellence in project management and the strengthening of the country’s science, technology and innovation ecosystem.
