Nanotechnology engineering
Capes grade: 4
Coordinator: Tiago Albertini Balbino
Vice Coordinator: Luciana Spinelli Ferreira
Being synonymous with innovation and competitiveness, nanotechnology is the technology for manipulating, controlling, designing, simulating, developing, implementing, and manufacturing objects, structures, devices, and systems in the size range between 1 and 100 nanometers. Applicable to a diverse array of sectors and human needs, nanotechnology engineering bridges the gap between basic knowledge and applied knowledge.
It was created in 2013, being a pioneering program in Brazil in the engineering field. Our program is naturally interdisciplinary and we train our master’s and doctoral students in a cutting-edge area, with research in modern laboratories equipped with state-of-the-art instruments. In our first year, we were awarded the maximum grade by Capes for a new program (grade 5).
