Coppe/UFRJ’s Business Incubator and Cietec (USP’s Incubator) will carry out, from October 10th to 12th, the HKIA2025, an artificial intelligence hackathon aimed towards data on public health. The initiative seeks to mobilize the potential of technology and innovation to face some of the key challenges in the Brazilian public health system – one of the largest and most complex in the world.
Recognizing public health as a strategic area for the country’s social and economic development, the event shall bring together the best talents from Brazilian universities and startups to address real challenges. With the support of experts, participants will develop solutions with concrete impact in areas such as predictive analytics and intelligent resource management; RAG (recovery augmented generation) and natural language data dialogue; Data Lakes exploration and the identification of emerging challenges.
The central objective is to create tools that contribute to improving the quality of care, increasing management efficiency, and expanding the population’s access to more effective public health services. All solutions created during the hackathon will be made available as open source, under the Linux license, so they can be reused and expanded by public and private institutions, strengthening the healthcare innovation ecosystem in Brazil.
Registration is now open and will run until September 19th. The event is free and open to students, professionals, researchers, and entrepreneurs in the fields of healthcare, engineering, information technology, data science and public management. The five best solutions will be awarded R$4,000, plus US$10,000 in credits from AWS (Amazon Web Services) — one of the world’s leading cloud computing platforms — to boost the development of their proposals.
Before the hackathon, participants will have access to exclusive content — including study trails, practical guides and webinars — developed with the support of cutting edge institutions such as Nvidia, AWS, and the National Laboratory for Scientific Computing (LNCC).
